VIDEO: Transverse Abdominis Contraction

The seated abdominal contraction is a key exercise that we use as a starting point for lower back pain rehabilitation. The exercise targets a muscle called Transverse Abdominis which is the innermost layer of the “core” muscles. It’s the one thats primarily responsible for protecting the lumbar spine from taking impact.
